Beebuild can be fed to bees in three different ways:
Feeding via a drum with a mesh covering
Direct application to the honeycomb by rubbing
Placement of Beebuild on top of the frames
How Beebuild is made
Beebuild is made here on our property. We have come a long way from mixing the secret oils & powders in a cement mixer. We originally made the product for our own use. But like all good things the word soon got around. I guess we owe the Jensen & Rasmussen’s for pressuring us to make it for them.
They had been observing our bees working Beebuild out of old honey drums with a window cut in one end on star pickets. This simple stand keeps it high enough to help keep pigs, sheep and livestock from stealing the Bee Build. Kangaroos and Possums are also known to enjoy it.
It is a good idea to place bird wire over the opening. The demand for Bee Build has seen the need to build a bigger shed. Beebuild is somewhat of a good luck story. Showing what good research can do & that it does help beekeepers in a practical way (thanks to Dr Doug Somerville & Dr Rob Manning for their helpful research & RIRDC ).
